The Howard Community College (HCC) Women's Lacrosse program returned to its winning ways defeating the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Essex Knights 19-13 on a cold and wet Tuesday afternoon.
After a disappointing second half against Harford Community College, the Dragons were anxious to get back on the field and return to its winning ways. The Dragons were led by sophomore's Kelsey Scott (Catonsville), Nicole Keller (Howard), and Rachel Sigwalt (Blake) who combined for 13 of HCC's 19 goals on the day.  Sophomore Colleen Dudley (Long Reach) played a big role as well leading the Dragons with 5 assists.  HCC started the game strong leading CCBC 8-3 at the break.
Continuing its momentum into the second half, HCC outscored CCBC 5-1 in the opening minutes of the half. Looking as if the Dragons were going to run away with the game the Knights attempted to make a comeback. The Knights Alexis Corbitt-Fennekohl led the way for CCBC scoring 7 of its 13 goals. Despite her valiant effort the balanced attack of the Dragons would prove to be too much to overcome as HCC outscored CCBC 11-10 in the second half to seal the victory.
The Dragons return to action on Friday March 30th as they travel to Keyser WV to take on the Potomac State College of WVU Catamounts. Game time is set for 4 PM.
