HCC Dragons Hall of Fame

HOF2025

The Howard Community College Athletics Hall of Fame immortalizes the very best of Dragon Country. These inductees represent the finest that HCC has to offer, and showcase the qualities we looked for in ideal student-athletes: personal and team achievements, sportsmanship, exceptional performance on the field or the sidelines, leadership, and lasting impact on the HCC community.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2025!

HOFSteveMusselman

Steve Musselman
Steve Musselman joined Howard Community College in August of 1985, and for the next four decades became one of the most important figures in Dragon Country. Musselman helped the college restart the athletic program, and worked his way up to the position of Assistant Athletic Director by the time of his retirement. He created both the cross country and track & field programs here at HCC, and alongside fellow Hall of Famer Errick Henlon, turned the Dragons running programs into state powerhouses. Musselman won 16 cross country regional titles for his men’s teams and four regional titles for his women’s teams. On the track side, he helped his team win the 2013 NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship and won 20 combined regional titles. He was named NJCAA Men’s Track Coach of the Year three times, was Region 20 Cross Country Coach of the Year 16 times, District Coach of the Year twice, and had 237 student-athletes named All-Region, All-American, and Academic All-American during his lengthy career. Without a doubt, he is one of the most accomplished and respected figures in the history of the Howard Community College Dragons.

HOFErrickHenlon

Errick Henlon
Without Errick Henlon, there may have never been HCC athletics. Coming from Spanish Town, Jamaica, Errick Henlon first joined the Dragons in the 1980s as a athletic tech. His duties included maintenance of athletic transportation, running summer camps, maintaining the grounds, and transporting student-athletes to their games. He also dabbled in coaching, running the men’s soccer team and helping to coach track & field. His four decades of work with Howard Community College helped endear him to hundreds of student-athletes, coaches, and staff, and his retirement in 2016 marked the end of an era for Dragon Country.

DeRosier attended HCC from 2003 to 2004. He participated in the track & field team and was named an NJCAA All-American six times. His fantastic performances landed him a spot at Saint Augustine’s University, where he became a 10-time NCAA All-American and a four-time NCAA Division II champion.
