Welcome to Howard Community College Athletics! As an eligible member of Howard Community College athletics, you will have access to athletic training services provided by MedStar Health. ATs will cover all home contests, and most practices, in addition to injury evaluation & treatment, medical referrals, and short-term injury rehabilitation. The Athletic Trainers are located in KC-021.

The first step to becoming medically eligible to participate in team activities is to complete the full physical packet (PPE). You can start that process here:

Important Information Regarding Medical Insurance and Mandatory Eligibility Medical Forms

**All prospective Howard Community College student-athletes must have these forms completed and reviewed by the Athletic Trainer in order to participate in any formal team activity**

**Please do not print out the Preseason Physical Evaluation forms from a mobile device, it tends to print out in a dysfunctional format.**

The College mandates that all students interested in participating in our athletic programs must carry primary medical insurance.

This affects try-outs as well. Students who do not have medical insurance MUST obtain medical insurance and also must have a current physical on file with our athletic trainer, Tim Happel, prior to participation in any form.

No one can try-out or practice without documentation submitted to the athletics department; they can watch practice but cannot physically participate. No exceptions!

For those student-athletes who do not have medical insurance, one option is to go to the government website at https://www.marylandhealthconnection.gov/ to enroll for the necessary insurance.

The link below provides information for insurance specifically for international students with F1 status.
