Dragons to Host Flag Football and Cheer Combine!

Columbia, MD - Howard Community College is excited to announce our Girls Flag Football & Cheer Combine in association with the Baltimore Ravens!

The Dragons will be hosting this combine on Saturday, August 9 from 9AM to 12PM. The flag football portion will be held on the athletic fields, while the cheer portion will be held in the main gym. Both combines will have support from the Baltimore Ravens, with the Ravens cheer squad, Ravens entertainment, and mascot Poe attending, plus a Ravens legend making an appearance! Fans who attend along with participants will be able to take part in a giveaway during the event.

Participants will have the option to either partake in the flag football program or the cheer leading program. The flag football combine will work to improve the skills of participants via the 40-yard dash, catching & flag pulling drills, scrimmages, and agility & endurance drills. The cheer combine will include stunt progression training, tumbling techniques, jump drills, and lessons on sideline dance and cheer.

Howard Community College sponsors 15 total athletics programs and became the first Maryland-based junior college to sponsor a women's flag football program last season. The flag football team competed in two away-tournaments last season and plans to host tournaments this coming year. Their cheer program began cheering at home games in 2024, and is expanding to competition events in 2025, making them the first competitive cheer team in Maryland junior-college athletics!
