Will Thomas was named the manager of athletic facilities and equipment in December 2023 as a full-time administrator in the athletic department. He was also named the associate head coach of the men's basketball team at Howard Community College in July of 2021. Thomas is responsible for the maintenance of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, facility rentals, inventory, equipment, apparel, and assisting with game operations.

Thomas returned to Howard Community College as an assistant men's basketball coach in 2019, continuing his long standing success of coaching with Mike Smelkinson. He worked in various capacities to assist with athletic facility management and game day operations. In March 2023, Thomas began working full-time in the Howard CC facility department while continuing to serve in his coaching role with the basketball team. In 2024, he was named head coach of the men's JV basketball program at Howard.
Prior to his return, Thomas spent four years as an assistant coach at Harford Community College with head coach Mike Smelkinson where they led the Fighting Owls to two regional championships, three conference championships, and a Division I national tournament appearance. From 2018 to 2020, Thomas also served as the assistant athletic director at Newtown High School where he managed game day operations, inventory management, logistical coordination, and served as a liaison to the coaching staff. He has also been a certified IAABO Board 12 basketball referee for over 10 years.Â

Harford CC, Thomas served as the assistant coach at Howard Community College for two seasons, including the 2013-14 season as his first year withÂ
Smelkinson. Prior to his time at Howard, he coached the New Town High School's JV basketball team.
In addition to his coaching success, Coach Thomas played for Grays Harbor College during his freshman season before moving on to finish his playing career at Seattle Pacific where he played for two seasons. Thomas currently resides in nearby Laurel, MD.
