Joe Valentino enters the 2019 season in his first year as the head coach of the Howard CC women's lacrosse team.
Prior to joining Howard CC, Valentino was the head coach with The Academy of The Holy Cross girls’ junior varsity lacrosse team. He was also the Director of Recruiting and Lacrosse and a head coach and a volunteer assistant coach of the Rebels Lacrosse Club, as well as the offensive coordinator and goalie coach for St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel. He is currently the head coach of the HOCO Girl’s Lacrosse Club 2021 Black Team.
As the head coach of the girls’ lacrosse Howard County Youth Recreational Lacrosse program, Valentino was chosen as the head coach of the league’s all-star league game in 2013. He was also picked as an assistant coach for the league’s showcase game in 2012.
Valentino earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal science from York College of Pennsylvania and has coached youths in lacrosse, baseball, softball, and ice hockey.
His coaching philosophy is to always be positive, to always be prepared, and to remember that lacrosse is supposed to be fun. He preaches that he wants the team to be ready to put forth maximum effort every time they take the field and that the results will follow.
