Vaughn Adams Jr.

Vaughn Adams Jr. came to Howard CC as an assistant coach for the cross country and track & field teams starting in 2021 where he specializes in the hurdles and jumps. 
 
Prior to coaching at Howrad CC, he was a volunteer assistant coach at The University of Maryland Eastern Shore.  He coached multi-event athletes, throwers and pole vault. While at University of Maryland Eastern Shore, he had success producing the 2020 MEAC Champion in men's pole vault. He also produce the silver medalist in men's pole vault in the 2020 MEAC indoor track and field championships. He helped produce the bronze medalist in the shot put in the 2020 MEAC Indoor Championships. At Regionals in 2020, he produced 1st team All-East performer in the multis and top 25 All-East in men's shot put. 

As an undergraduate, coach Adams competed in cross country and track at Delaware State University. He would later transfer to University of Maryland Eastern Shore to compete and complete his degree. While at University Maryland Eastern Shore, he also served as an intern in the strength and conditioning department, assisting with cross country and track & field.  He graduated 2016 with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science (Kinesiology).  
Coach Adams is married to his wife who he adores, Cierre Adams and has one amazing son Jayden and one lovely dog Jazmine.
