Kate Seagroves

Since her arrival on the Howard Community College campus in the fall of 1999, women's soccer head coach Kate Seagroves has elevated women’s soccer in the region and national level. While at the helm of the Dragons women’s soccer program, Coach Seagroves was named NJCAA and NSCAA coach of the year twice (2003, 2010). She has led the Dragons to six NJCAA National tournaments (2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2018, 2019) finishing third in the nation four times. 

Her teams have won seven regional titles, five district titles, and two conference championships. She has developed 18 NJCAA All-Americans and six NSCAA All-Americans. Coach Seagroves, although a competitive coach, still continues to put the fun and joy into the sport for her players.

Coach Seagroves had an extensive and stellar soccer career. Seagroves went to North Carolina Wesleyan where she earned her undergraduate degree in Education. On the pitch, she was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the Battling Bishops. After coaching at her alma mater for a year, she went on to Middle Tennessee State University where she earned her graduate degree in Physical Education Health & Recreation while coaching the Blue Raiders in their first two seasons. Kate resides with her family in Catonsville, MD.
