Dragons lose in OT to Montgomery in Region XX Playoffs

The Montgomery College Raptors defeated the Howard Community College Dragons 2-1 in overtime, advancing to the Region XX Semifinals on October 31 at Anne Arundel Community College. Montgomery ran its record to 17-2-1, while HCC slipped to 12-6 to end its season.

This was a close game throughout the match.  Montgomery took a 1-0 lead in the first half and the Dragons responded with a second-half goal by Emmanuel Wright (Columbia, MD, Mt. Hebron HS)  from Ian Evans (Columbia, MD, Hammond HS) , to tie the match at the 69:28 mark.  HCC goalkeeper Garrett Peters (Granite, MD, Gilman HS) did everything he could to keep the Dragons alive before Montgomery's Gabriel N'Diaye scored the game-winner in overtime and sent the Raptors to the Region XX Finals.  

Howard CC's Christopher Lee (Ellicott City, MD, Centennial HS) , Elliot Quinteros (Jessup, MD, Hammond HS) , and Wright all took two shots on goal, while goalie Peters made 8 saves in the match.
