The Howard CC women's volleyball took on a slumping Washington Adventist University squad and was able to easily win in straight sets.

HCC took the first set 25-19 in what proved to be the closest of the three sets. The Dragons came back a little better in the 2nd set with some strong play by new setter Cecelia Casamento (Woodbine, MD, Chapelgate Christian Academy) who finished the match with 11 assists over two sets of play. Defensive specialist Judith Hernandez (Beltsville, MD, Highland View Academy) enjoyed a memorable run as she tallied 2 aces, 2 digs, on a single run of service.

The 3rd set was all HCC as they took advantage of WAU mistakes and had no attacking errors on their way to a 25-13 set score.

Middle hitter Taylor Bowen (Mount Airy, MD, South Carroll HS) led the team with 8 kills, followed closely by Chelsea Parrinello (Finksburg, MD, Westminster HS) with 7, Stephanie Bartylla (Westminster, MD, Manchester Valley HS) with 6, and Essence Holtzclaw (Atlanta, GA, Arundel HS) with 5 of her own.

The Dragons have another quick turnaround as they host Cecil College just 24 hours after this match on Thursday October 15th at 7:30 PM in an MD JUCO match.
