Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Dragons Rout Chesapeake College 10-0

The Howard CC men's soccer team recovered from a couple of tough losses with a comfortable win over Chesapeake College by the score of 10-0.

The Dragons were able to strike in the 2nd minute as a nice 1-2 play with Leandro Hernandez (Silver Spring, MD, Spencerville Adventist Academy) found Emmanuel Wright (Columbia, MD, Mt. Hebron HS) in the middle of the box where he was able to curl a shot around the goalkeeper. Wright scored a second goal just 10 minutes later when a long through ball from Jonathan Horrocks (Clarksville, MD, Mt. Hebron HS) found Wright behind the defense which allowed him to juke the keeper and tap it into an empty net.

In the 22nd minute it was Jason Mitchell (Dayton, MD, Washington Christian Academy) scoring his first of the year as he got a great through ball from Pierre Ndoye (Laurel, MD, Laurel HS) and rounded the keeper for a tap in. The 24th minute saw the Gonzalez twins link up for a goal as Walter Gonzalez (Beltsville, MD/High Point HS) (Beltsville, MD, High Point HS) found his brother Edgardo Gonzalez (Beltsville, MD, High Point HS) with some nice passing. Walter Gonzalez (Beltsville, MD/High Point HS) was able to put one on the board as he dribbled through 3 defenders and easily slotted the ball into the side netting.

The second half was more of the same as Neosystos Konstantinou (Cyprus, Ayios Antonios Lyceum) put in his first goal of the season two minutes after the break. Walter Gonzalez (Beltsville, MD/High Point HS) added his 2nd goal of the game 2 minutes later and Shaheed Twyman (Columbia, MD, Oakland Mills HS) put in his 2nd of the season thanks to a great through ball from Konstantinou. The 59th minute saw  Hernandez make a great long range strike for a goal. In the 75th minute, it was Wright finishing his hat trick and rounding out a nice round number.

The Dragons next play Monday, September 21 as they host Region XX opponent NOVA; kick-off will be at 4 PM.
