Dragons Continue to look Dominant beating Anne Arundel in straight sets

Box Score The Howard Community College (HCC) Women's Volleyball program has continued to look dominant as they beat Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) in straight sets last Friday evening.

Howard is on a 15 set streak, without losing a set in nearly a month. This night would be no different as the Dragons won the first set 25-13 and easily won the  second set 25-8, and finished up the third set 25-20.   The third set tested the Dragons and put their set streak in jeopardy, but the Dragons resolve ultimately thwarted the Riverhawks hopes.

The third set started out with both Howard and Anne Arundel battling point for point with each other, with neither team looking to back down. Then Howard went on a run, which looked as if the Dragons were going to pull out another easy win.  However, as soon as it got out of hand AACC called its first timeout of the set, which seemed to rejuvenate the Riverhawks because they went on a run of their own closing the gap to 20-16.  After the next timeout AACC would make one final push, in an attempt to extend the game, but its effort would fall short as the Dragons would win this set 25-20.

The Dragons next games are both away vs. Chesapeake College on the 12th and vs. Baltimore City CC on the 15th.  The Dragons end the season at home on October 20th playing Northern Virginia CC. Howard is (19-5) overall and (6-3) in the conference, and the win improves Dragons home record to 11-2.
