After the Dragons opened their season against CCBC-Catonsville suffering a 5 point loss, Howard looked to get their first win with the home opener against CSM and split the series 1-1. The Dragons suffered a heartbreaking 103-94 loss against the Hawks Wednesday night. Both teams started out with their own run and gun style of offense and that lead to a back and forth game in the 1
st half. Which lead to early foul trouble? Howard shot 58% from the charity stripe while the Hawks shot 46% from the line. Howard went into the half with a 42-40 lead, coming into the 2
nd half things change the game was still back and forth but Howard got into foul trouble early. The Dragons were led by
Taequan Hall (Baltimore, MD/Glen Burnie)'s 18 points,
Neftaly Lind (Albany, NY/Green Tech Charter)'s 17 points and
Paul Golder (Laurel, MD/Laurel)'s 15 2 of those points came on a "Slamma Jamma" in the 2
nd half that energized the crowd and the team. In the end what did the damage were points off of free throws. CSM shot 71% of the line and Howard shot 57% from the line. The Dragons next go up to Somerville, New Jersey to play in the Raritan Valley CC Tournament before returning to play Harford on November 21 and MC-Rockville on November 30.
