Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

HCC Routs Cecil College 23-8

The #5 ranked HCC men's lacrosse team secured their 7th straight victory as they defeated Cecil College 23-8. The victory improves the Dragons record to 8-1 on the season and 3-0 in the conference as they continue to lead the charge in the MD JUCO conference.

HCC dominated possession from the start of the game thanks to being successful in the face-off circle 29-35 times thanks in large part to specialist Matthew Jun (Clarksville, MD, River Hill High School). While the Dragons surely gave up more goals then they would prefer, the offense was firing on all cylinders throughout the game.

The offense was led by Scott Dagnanleach (Hazel Grove, UK, Hazel Grove High School) with a 5 goal 6 assist performance as he is currently 4th in the conference in points and 2nd in assists. Fellow attackman Kevin Curcio (Lancaster, PA, Manheim Township) added 5 goals and 2 assist while the 3rd musketeer Zach Beard (Clarksville, MD, River Hill High School) contributed 3 goals and 6 assists.

The Dragons midfielders also got in on the scoring action as HCC got 2 goals each from Emmanuel Nwana (Silver Spring, MD, Springbrook High School), Austin Mitchell (Laurel, MD, Reservoir High School), Declan Whinnery (Middleton, WI, Middleton High School), and Jackson Downs (Olney, MD, Sherwood High School). Defensive midfielder Bizabel Reyes (Silver Spring, MD, Springbrook HS) chipped in his first goal of the season while also successfully being deputized for a handful of face-offs.

Goalie Mark Bowser (Carlisle, PA, Carlisle High School) picked up his 8th win of the season while spending only the first half between the pipes. Bowser currently leads the MD JUCO conference with a 63.6 save percentage and sits at 2nd in goals allowed average.

HCC has a short turnaround for one of their biggest games of the season as they host #1 ranked Nassau CC on Sunday April 3rd at 1 PM.
