Dragons Start Season With Impressive 2-1 Win At Ocean County College

The Howard CC men's soccer team kicked off the 2016 season in style as they were able to come away with a great 2-1 victory at Ocean County College.

With a number of returning players from last year's squad, it was a freshman defender that scored the first goal of the season for the Dragons. After a mad scramble in the OCC box, the ball bounced out to Robert Seiler (College Park, MD, Bishop Mcnamara HS) who slammed the shot home from the top of the 18 yard box early in the first half.

Just 10 minutes later it was a familiar face from Dragons past that got on the scoreboard. A star on the 2014 Dragons team, forward Ezekiel Ebenezer (Columbia, MD, Long Reach HS) has come back to the Dragons in style as he scored on a great individual effort. After a Dragons clear from their own zone, Ebenezer grappled with the OCC defender and came away as the only man left standing as he calmly slotted the ball into the net.

Despite a goal for the home team in the 2nd half, HCC came away with a much needed victory in the season opener. They continue their New Jersey trek on Sunday August 29th as they travel to Rowan College of Burlington County for a morning game.
