The Howard Community College (HCC) men's soccer program dropped a tight 4-3 game to CCBC Essex.
The first half of the game was back and forth with both teams getting opportunities on net. However, the Dragons had more quality chances on goal leading to a 2-0 halftime lead. The first goal was scored by
Cristian Alfaro (/) as he received the cross from
Steve Amankwah (/) and slotted the ball under the diving keeper for CCBC. Three minutes later, in the 16th minute of action HCC struck again as
Steve Amankwah (/) would put the ball in the net off of a pass from his brother
Francis Amankwah (/).
In the second half, the Dragons came out swinging after its strong first half with Alfaro tallying his second goal of the game. After that goal, the momentum gradually shifted in favor of CCBC as they scored four unanswered goals to make an improbable comeback and steal the game from the Dragons.
With the loss the Dragons fall to 8-5-1; 7-2-1 on the season and will return to action Wednesday, October 18 at the Dragons Lair as they face Montgomery College at 4 PM.
