The Howard Community College (HCC) Men's Soccer Program Beat Prince George's Community College (PGCC) 2-1 Friday afternoon to advance to the Region XX championship game. 
 
In the 15' minute of the game, HCC's Cristian Alfaro (Columbia, MD/Reservoir) scored to put the Dragons up 1-0 with a shot that deflected off of a defender and stayed on target into the back of the net.  Quentin Valliente assisted Alfaro on the goal. 
 
HCC would enter the 2nd half with the one-goal advantage.  The Dragons would go up 2-0 in the 62' minute of the game as Alfaro found the back of the net for the second time in the game as he capitalized on a penalty kick.  PGCC would go on to score one-goal in the 79'th minute, but it would not be enough as the Dragons were able to hold off the Owls to secure the win.
 
Defensively, HCC played stout with Simon Bradford (Columbia, MD/Hammond) and company leading the way not to allow PGCC to get many good looks at the goal.
 
With the win, the Dragons 12-5-1 (9-2-1) will advance to the championship game, which will be on Sunday, October 29 at Anne Arundel Community College.  HCC will face the winner of Montgomery and Northern Virginia Community College.
