In matchup of life imitating art the Lannisters (CCBC-Dundalk Lions) came out victorious over the Targaryens (HCC Dragons), only this time there was no iron throne on the line. To start the game Howard went on a 5-0 run and led for the majority of the 1st half with the Lions tying the game up at 21 with 6:46 left til halftime. The lead went back and forth, but the Lions pounced on the Dragons opening a wound Howard just couldn't recover from. Going into halftime the Lions led 42-29. During the second half, the struggling defense of the Dragons allowed Dundalk to turn the Dragon's Lair into the Lion's Den. Mike White of Dundalk feasted as he scored the team's first 9 points of the 2nd half pushing the lead out to 17. The largest deficit came with 5 minutes left in the 2nd half when the Dragons went down 28 and in the closing minutes the Dragons were not able to trim the lead. The Dragons leading scorers were
Paul Golder (Laurel, MD/Laurel) with 18,
Taequan Hall (Baltimore, MD/Glen Burnie) 17 and
Neftaly Lind (Albany, NY/Green Tech Charter) with 13. The Dragons go to an overall record of (4-17) in conference (2-11). The next home game for the Dragons is Monday February 1st against Baltimore City Community College and then close out the season on February 13th against Potomac State College of West Virginia.
