In a game where Cecil got off to a fast two set lead, the women's volleyball team suffered a valiant 3-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting Seahawks and ultimately fell to 3-5 (0-2) on the season.

As a team, the Dragons totalled 34 kills, 33 assists, 64 digs, and four solo blocks. Individually, the team was led by sophomore Alana Matson (Baltimore, MD/Seton Keough HS) with 12 kills, freshman Jessica Marquis (/Liberty) with 5 saves, sophomore Lindsey Major (Elkridge, MD/Long Reach HS) with 16 digs, and freshman Jazzmin Duncan (/Laurel) with two solo blocks.

Despite being down two sets, the Dragons managed to make it a game again with a dramatic 25-22 win in the third set. However, the team was unable to pull out a win in the fourth set and lost 25-20.

When asked about the team's mindset following the loss, Major said the team views the loss as "a minor setback [in preparation] for a major comeback". Matson feels like they were both "highs and lows throughout the game and if they focused on the highs they would've fared better".

The Dragons look to end their three game losing streak when they face Anne Arundel Community College on September 16 in Arnold, MD.
