Columbia, MD - The Dragons faced a fast paced Beaver Titans team and fell 90-78 in a game that Howard led big early in the game. 
 
To start off the first half, the Dragons brought the heat and sunk seven unanswered points. The Titans were caught off guard and flat footed by the intensity the Dragons brought to the start of the contest as Jareem Lovette (Warsaw, NC/James Kenan) scored on a fast break after a Kevin Yomba (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) block to tip the game off. Brandon Howell (Suitland, MD/Henry Wise) hit some big shots and Deven Richmond (Bear, DE/DeMatha) dominated early to give Howard a 29-7 lead after eight minutes of play. Beaver County responded with a 17-0 run and charged all the way back to tie the game before a Jesse Calloway (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) layup ended the first half with Howard ahead 44-42.
 
At the start of the second half, both teams were alternating leads as the intensity of the game began to increase. The game turned midway through the second half as a layup by Lovette had Howard down 59-58, but the Titans went on an 11-0 run to open up a lead the Dragons could not come back from.
 
Richmond led all scorers with 25 points in the game while Lovette scored 17 and Calloway contributed 15.
 
The Dragons will host conference rivals Montgomery on Wednesday, December 5^th at 7 PM as Howard looks to get in the win column in the midst of an eight game losing streak.
