Dragons Cruise Past Potomac State

The men's lacrosse team decimated Potomac State 27-2 on a rainy Wednesday afternoon for their second win on the season. The victory extends the Dragons winning streak to two and gives them an overall record of (2-1,0-0).

Howard absolutely dominated the first half of the game, leading 14-0 at halftime. The team was led by sophomores Ian Decker (Orlando, FL/Dr. Phillips) and Will Smith (Rockville, MD/Rockville) who each ended the first half with four goals apiece.

It wasn't until the second half that Potomac State managed to get on the board, with Joshua Jahn scoring in the opening minutes of the third quarter and ruining the chances of a shutout. After the goal, the Dragons ended the quarter with a 6-0 run and effectively iced the game.

Sophomore captain and midfielder Alex Stephanos (Ellicott City, MD/Howard), on the victory, said "it was a good game to get our flow going and to start building chemistry with the team".

The Dragons will look to build off this game and increase their winning streak to three when they play at Suffolk Community College on March 11 at Selden, New York.
