Columbia, MD - The Dragons club volleyball team won their second straight victory as they were able to defeat the Allegany Trojans in straight sets.
Howard took the first set easily in a 25-15 rout, but were behind for much of the second set, trailing 23-17 before the Dragons won seven straight points to take the lead with
Elizabeth Quintin (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) picking up a couple of aces in the stretch. After Allegany won the next point to make it 24-24, kills by
Sydney Tucker () and
Jasmyn Bumbray (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) won out for the Dragons.
The Trojans look demoralized after that and Howard went on to win the third set 25-14 to close out the match.
Tucker led the way with nine kills and eight aces while Bumbray finished with four kills, three aces and 13 assists.
Rachel Dotson (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) played her part with six digs and three aces as both teams played with just six players the entire match.
The Dragons will next travel across town to CCBC Essex on Thursday, September 13 at 6 PM.
