Hagerstown, MD – The Dragons men's soccer team suffered their first conference loss of the season in a tough luck 2-1 Hagerstown victory.
Howard doubled up the hosts in shots (17-8) and corner kicks (4-2), but it was the Hawks who fired in first as a 17
th minute goal by Logan Woodruff against the run of play.
It took until the 66
th minute for the Dragons to get on the scoreboard as a pair of substitutes combined with
Dongkeon Jang (Elkridge, MD/Centennial) set up
Jose Garcia Monterrosa (El Salvador/Colegio San Franciso) for his first goal of the season.
The score only stayed tied for five minutes as the Hawks put in the eventual game winner through Herber Cruz in the 71
st minute.
Anthony Perez Rodriguez (Columbia, MD/Hammond) and
Anderson Mejia Marroquin (Elkridge, MD/Hammond) each managed five shots in the game in a tough fought game with a combined 28 fouls between the two games.
The Dragons will next travel to Region 20 rivals Northern Virginia CC for a 3 PM game.
