Columbia, MD – Nikki Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) and
Grace Pritchett (Dayton, MD/Linganore) combined to score five goals as the Dragons ran past the Southern Maryland Hawks 7-0.
The Dragons started the scoring early with
Nikki Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) scoring her sixth goal of the season on a ball knocked around the box and eventually finished into the top right corner of the net.
Hailey Montoya (Redlands, CA/Redlands East Valley) scored a goal for the second straight game on a shot from 30 yards out that found the far side netting just 30 seconds after Vieira.
Grace Pritchett (Dayton, MD/Linganore) was put in on a through ball from Vieira as the Dragons scored three goals in a two minute stretch.
Rylee Nieman (Mt. Airy, MD/South Carroll) scored a beautiful goal from a nice through ball by
Maddie Reeser (Sykesville, MD/Century) as Nieman powered a shot into the roof of the net.
Ahead 4-0 after the break, the Dragons continued to keep the pressure up as Vieira scored two more goals on assists from Montoya and
Kylie Toler (Fulton, MD/Reservoir).
Pritchett took a shot from 35 yards out, scoring from long range for her second of the game to put Howard up 7-0 in the 64
th minute.
Howard will now hit the road for a crucial conference match at Montgomery College on Friday, September 28 at 2 PM.
