Bel Air, MD -
Anderson Marroquin (Elkridge, MD/Hammond) scored a first half hat-trick as Howard rolled over the Harford Fighting Owls 4-0.
It took less than two minutes for Marroquin to add to his historically prolific season as
Luis Wardcantori (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) set him up to score his 25th goal of the season. That number represents the most goals scored in a season in the modern era of statistical reporting for Howard (est. 2012), beating his own record from 2018 of 24.
The pair teamed up again 20 minutes later as Wardcantori again assisted Marroquin to double the Dragons lead. He would go on to complete the hat-trick in the 32nd minute, this time thanks to
Noel Diaz (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) on the helper.
Anthony Perez (Columbia, MD/Hammond), who's season has been greatly diminished by injuries, scored his first goal of the season to give Howard a 4-0 lead at halftime. That would be more than enough for the Dragons to cruise as goalkeeper
Darbouzeson Casseus (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) was forced into just three saves in the first half and gave way to
Kevin Pina (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) in the second half, who conceeded a goal and made a save.
Howard out-shot Harford 32-6 in the game as Harford's Mason Mullaney gave up all four goals in the first half while also making nine saves with Collin Davies making four more saves in his second half stint between the pipes.Â
The Dragons will return home to face Potomac State on Tuesday, October 22 at 4 PM for their penultimate match of the regular season.
