Columbia, MD - The Dragons were unable to stay with the heavy hitting Fighting Owls of Harford, as they fell in straight sets to their conference foes.
After a no-nonsense first set from the Fighting Owls, the Dragons pushed back in the second thanks to a late three point run with a kill by
Natalie Hosseini (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) and two straight
Sroda Coleman (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) aces to make it a 19-16 Harford lead. Hosseini would pick up another kill along with a
Kira Thompson (Elkridge, MD/Atholton) big hit, but Harford was able to hold on in the end.
Errors plagued the Dragons in the third set as Harford jumped out to a big lead with five straight points and cruised to victory.Â
Thompson led the way with seven kills while
Sabrina Lagomarsino (Clarksville, MD/Atholton)Â earned a double-double with 11 digs and 10 assists. Hosseini chipped in four kills and a block with
Emily Aubertin (Mount Airy, MD/Linganore), Lagomarsino and
Jordan Kent (Bowie, MD/Mt. Oak Christian) adding two kills each.
Howard will have no time to rest up as they host another powerful in-state opponent in Cecil on Thursday, October 2 at 7 PM.
