Columbia, MD - A convincing with for the Dragons in their penultimate regular season match, as they swept the CCBC Essex Knights in straight sets.

A close first set was quickly turned into a rout as Jordan Kent (Bowie, MD/Mt. Oak Christian) went on a five point serving tun including an ace with Howard benefiting from a slew of Knight errors.

Howard jumped out to an early lead in the second set with seven straight points going the Dragons way including three aces by Sabrina Lagomarsino (Clarksville, MD/Atholton) as Howard led 13-2 after a Kent block. Essex clawed their way back slightly as the sent went by, but the Dragons closed out strong with four straight points including a kill and an ace by Emily Aubertin (Mount Airy, MD/Linganore).

The third set was a different story, as CCBC Essex won the first eight points forcing the Dragons into making immediate changes. Kent broke the streak with a kill up the middle which started the Howard comeback which included an 8-0 Howard run on with a couple Kira Thompson (Elkridge, MD/Atholton) aces leading the way. On match point, Lagomarsino set up Natalie Hosseini (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) for a mighty strike to close out the match in exciting fashion.

Howard will finish the regular season at home as they take on Chesapeake for a Thursday night match at 4 PM on October 24.
