Butler, PA - The Dragons swept Pennsylvania Highlands for the second time this season as they won the regional tournament quarterfinals to keep their season alive.
Pennsylvania Highlands came out of the gates playing with a fire that was not seen in the previous meeting between the two teams as Howard's defense was put to the test throughout the contest. The Dragons held up strongly, combining to pick up 81 digs with
Yi Su Arief (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) getting a season high 26 digs.
Sabrina Lagomarsino (Clarksville, MD/Atholton) added 16 with
Kira Thompson (Elkridge, MD/Atholton) (15) and
Natalie Hosseini (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) (13) also getting double digit digs.
Hosseini slammed down 14 kills with Thompson adding eight and Kent scoring seven kills and two blocks.
Howard moves onto the semifinals where they will face #1 seed Butler County on Saturday, October 26 at 11 AM as the Dragons will attempt to upset the tournament hosts.
