Columbia, MD - Shaking off the rust from the Thanksgiving break, the Dragons were able to improve their record to 7-1 with an 89-75 victory over the St Mary's College of Maryland JV team.
The Howard starters dominated the first seven minutes of the game, getting out to a 25-4 lead. The Dragons did a good job of getting lots of playing time for the whole team as the scoring was spread out for the 13 Dragons that stepped on the court.Â
Deven Richmond (Bowie, MD/DeMatha) led the way with 18 points with
Joel Webb (Forestville, MD/Wise) scoring a season high 16 points along with
Naquan Williams-Day (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) adding 15. The starting guards of the Dragons focused more on distribution throughout the contest with
Kelvin Sellman (Temple Hills, MD/Crossland) and
Daeshawn Eaton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) combining for 13 assists with only two turnovers.
The tune up game was perfectly timed as they will next go to conference foes Prince George's on Wednesday, December 4 at 7 PM.Â
