Columbia, MD - A second consecutive game of a seven-goal Dragon performance pushed Howard to a fifth straight victory, beating the Fashion Institute of Technology 7-1.
The Dragons dominated the game from start to finish, outshooting their opponents 34-3.
Madalyn Nichols (Mt. Airy, MD/Glenelg) continued her hot streak of putting up points as she scored the opener 11 mintues into the game as
Lillian Scott (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) expertly centered the ball to a wide open Nichols for an easy tap in.
Ellen Campbell (Highland, MD/Reservoir) took advantage of some great opportunities as she scored on a Nichols assist midway through the first half and then again early in the second half as Campbell continued to get forward from the central midfield role. Nichols also set up
Emily Delaney (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) a minute and a half after Campbell first goal on a great back post cross.
Kayla Hatmaker (Woodbine, MD/Century) made it four straight games with a goal as she scored from long distance with
Kylie Toler (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) teeing the ball up for her.
The Dragons bench was particularly enthused when a ball into the Tigers box was tapped gently by
DaShawna Fowler (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) to an open
Nicole Epitropoulos (Catonsville, MD/Chapelgate Christian) for her first goal of the season. Nichols would score one more time on a long range shot thanks to
Claudia Brush (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) opening up the space for her to shoot.
After getting a couple good looks at them in the Dragon Invitational, Howard will next take on Anne Arundel in Arnold, MD on Friday, September 20 at 5 PM.
