Columbia, MD - The Dragons improved their home record this season to 12-0 as a spirited first half vaulted Howard CC over the Garrett Lakers 101-63.
Howard came out of the starting gates with all cylinders firing as they went into halftime with a 55-20 lead with
Christian Matthews (Clinton, MD/National Christian) scoring all 17 of his points in the opening 20 minutes of play.Â
A more subdued but efficient second half saw the strength of depth in the Dragons squad as nine players scored seven or more points. Richmond scored 13 in the game including a dunk that nearly brought the house down.
DJ Tucker-Harry (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) scored a season high 12 points on 6-6 shooting as he had his most dominant game in the paint for the Dragons.
Daeshawn Eaton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) quietly scored double-digit points again with 11 and
Naquan Williams-Day (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) found his shooting stroke as he hit three from long range and finished with 11 on the day.
The Dragons will next travel to southern Virginia to take on Richard Bland College on Tuesday, February 11 at 7 PM.
