South Prince George, VA - The Dragons faced a tough test traveling to Virginia, but were ultimately able to face down the Richard Bland Statesmen 3-0.
Despite putting on 18 shots in the first half, the Dragons were unable to break the deadlock against a Richard Bland team that played with energy and composure.Â
The game opened up in the second half as
Remi Rollins (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) started a build up that saw
Lillian Scott (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) feed
Tessa Cinotti (Laurel, MD/Reservoir) to finally get on the scoreboard. Rollins would later score one of her own as Amy Rodriguez provided the helper and doubled the Dragons lead.
Yassine Kamara (Hyattsville, MD/Parkdale) put the game to rest as her individual effort for her third of the season gave the Dragons a comfortable enough lead to see out the game.
Hailey Murray (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) made five saves in the game, four in the second half, to record her fourth shutout of the year.
The Dragons will hit the road again on Tuesday, October 5 as they take on the Harford Fighting Owls for a 7 PM nightcap.
