Rockville, MD - The arduous season for the women's volleyball team continued with another tri-match as the Dragons would go on to fall against Montgomery College 3-0 before bouncing back to defeat the College of Southern Maryland 3-0.
In the first match of the day, the powerful Raptors of Montgomery swept the Dragons aside 25-9, 25-17, 25-16. The Dragons had their hands full defensively with
Eryca Sterling (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) picking up 22 digs.
Kayla Hendershot (Columbia, MD/Hammond)Â contributed all over the place with 12 digs, four kills, and two blocks.Â
In the latter match, the Dragons put it all together for a well earned 25-19, 31-29, 25-18 three match sweep. Hendershot came through with arguably her strongest performance of the season with 16 kills on 34 attempts.
Mikaela Brewer (Gaithersburg, MD/Coventant Life) was fantastic with 27 assist and
Samantha Matney (Elkridge, MD/Howard)Â scooped up 10 digs.Â
The Dragons will get some time off before traveling to Chesapeake College for a Monday night showdown at 6 PM.
