David Garey (Gaithersburg, MD/Hargrave Military) scored 21 points off the bench as the Dragons were able to improve their record to 4-0 off an 87-74 win over the Hagerstown Hawks.
Howard started out big with an 8-0 lead followed by three
Joel Webb (Forrestville, MD/Dr. Henry A. Wise) layups in a couple of minutes extended the lead to 10. The Dragons took a 41- 30 lead at halftime and extended it all the way to a 25 point advantage on a fast break layup by Garey.
The Hawks cut the lead all the way down to 12 midway through the second half, but an Oman McGann three pointer halted the momentum and a few highlight reel Webb dunks proved enough for the Dragons to pull out the win.
Daeshawn Eaton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) scored 18 points on 7-12 shooting from the floor with
Cole Harshman (Baltimore, MD/Dulaney)Â hitting a couple from long range on his way to 13 points. Webb picked up his third double-double in four games with 10 points and 10 rebounds with
DJ Tucker (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) mirroring those same numbers.
Benjamin Murphy (Reisterstown, MD/Franklin) scored nine points along with four steals before getting injured in the second half.
The Dragons will now travel to New York to take on the #13 ranked Niagara County on Saturday, November 13 at 7 PM.
