Columbia, MD - The backcourt duo of David Garey (Gaithersburg, MD/Hargrave Military) and Daeshawn Eaton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) were too much for the Raptors to handle as they spurred the Dragons to an 88-69 victory.

Montgomery looked the better team in the first half, jumping out to an 11 point lead as the Dragons struggled to get a foothold in the game. A 13-0 run late in the first half put Howard back ahead as they went into halftime with a 39-37 lead.

The Howard full court press proved successful to start the second half as Montgomery struggled to get the ball past half court, suffering six turnovers in the first two minutes out of the halftime intermission to give the Dragons a 14 point lead. Howard never looked back after that as the Dragons began to click on both sides of the court and closed the game out with a 19 point rout.

Garey scored 23 points with five assists while Eaton also added 23 points with six assists and zero turnovers. Koby Baptiste (New Carrollton, MD/Parkdale) scored 13 points with seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals while also giving the adoring fans a crowd please dunk at the end of the game for the exclamation mark. DJ Tucker (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) scored eight off the bench with three blocks and Hollique Johnson (Millersville, MD/Old Mill) scored six with 12 rebounds and a couple of steals.

The Dragons will face another tough test at home with Potomac State coming to town on Wednesday, February 16 at 7 PM.
