Rockville, MD - The Montgomery Raptors completed their week long sweep of fall sports over Howard, defeating the Dragons in volleyball in straight sets.

Montgomery jumped out to an early lead in the first set , then closed on a 7-0 run to take the opener 25-14. Howard closed the gap to a 17-15 Raptors lead in the second set, but another late run from the hosts allowed Montgomery to take the 2-0 lead with a 25-17 set win.

Howard stuck with the Raptors for the length of the third set, staying within striking distance before ultimately falling 25-21 which gave Montgomery the 3-0 win.

Morgan Conner (Sandy Spring, MD/Sherwood) led Howard with 11 kills while Brenna Siperko (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) knocked down eight. Eryca Sterling (Columbia,MD/Wilde Lake) led the defensive efforts with 17 digs to go along with three assists and an ace while Mikaela Brewer (Gaithersburg, MD/Covenant Life) chipped in 10 digs and 16 assists. 

The Dragons will return home to take on Northern Virginia on Tuesday, September 20 for a 6 PM showdown.
