Dragons Sweep Wildcats

Box Score Pittsburgh, PA - The Howard CC women's volleyball team traveled to Pittsburgh, PA over the weekend for a matchup against the Wildcats of CCAC, winning 3-0.

Dragons came out swinging in the first set against the Wildcats, defeating them 25-8. But the Wild cats seemed to find their rhythm a little bit more in the second set, as they earned 18 points against the Dragons 25, but the Dragons were still able to prevail. In the final set of the match, the Dragons took back control and commanded the game, defeating CCAC 25-13.

Vanessa Miller (Germantown, MD/Gaithersburg) leading the way for the Dragons, earned herself a double-double with 10 kills, and 13 digs. Makayla Holland (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) follows behind her with 8 kills and 17 digs, and Sydnei Harmon (Largo, MD/Flowers) behind Holland with 8 digs and 5 blocks. Stefamae Barquillia (Philippines/Einstein), Miller, and Holland also added a few aces during their match up against CCAC with 2 each.

Women's volleyball will be back in action on Wednesday, October 4, at home as they take on the Hawks of Southern Maryland at 7 PM. The match will be played at nearby Atholton High School and will be live streamed on the Dragons website.
