Catonsville, MD - The Dragons overcame a rough start as they ultimately routed the Richard Bland Statesmen 78-60.
Playing in their first of three consecutive days of games, the Dragons had an uncharacteristically shaky start to the game as they fell behind 6-0 after the first couple of minutes. Still behind 16-9 midway through the first half, Howard finally started to find their rhythm as they crawled their way back to take a 20-18 lead. The Dragons continued to play strong over the last 10 minutes of the first half, earning a 38-30 halftime lead.Â
The second half saw the Dragons continue to pull away, leading by as much as 26 which allowed the bench to get some quality minutes and carrying the team with 29 points.Â
O'Meech Wilson (Glen Burnie, MD/North County) showed out another strong game with 14 points and seven rebounds. The Dragons had the three pointer working with
Jaden Johnson (Upper Marlboro, MD/Dr. Henry A. Wise),
Ryan Conway (Towson, MD/Dulaney), and
Shane Taylor (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) all hitting multiple three pointers each with
Colin Harshman (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) adding one as well.
The Dragons will now head to Cecil College for another invitational where they will take on Raritan Valley on Saturday, November 18 at 3 PM.
