Cumberland, MD - The Dragons traveled to western Maryland and were able to come away with a key regional victory, defeating the Allegany College of Maryland Trojans 57-45.
The Dragons struggled shooting on the day, but were able to find just enough offense as
Kalani Corkeron (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) hit four from long range to lead the Dragons with 19 points. A strong defensive performance from the Dragons saw them pull down 53 rebounds with 15 steals and five blocks as a team.Â
Nhaikyia Smith (Waldorf, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) nearly missed a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists despite a rough shooting day from the floor.
Mikiyah Mallett (Pasadena, MD/Old Mill) closed the game with 10 rebounds and nine points while
Sydnei Harmon (Largo, MD/Charles H. Flowers) added 10 rebounds, seven points, and four blocks.
Julia Harrington (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore City College) added another solid game for her as she scored eight points and eight rebounds.
The Dragons will now prepare for one of their most important games of the regular season as they travel to neighboring Montgomery College on Wednesday, February 8 at 6 PM.
