Box Score Bel Air, MD - The Howard Community College women's volleyball fell to the Fighting Owls 3-0, at Federal Credit Union Arena in Bel Air, MD.
During the first, In the opening set, Howard attempted to keep the game close, but Harford's strong serving and precise passing proved too much to handle. The Fighting Owls dominated the net and consistently found open gaps in the Dragons' defense, and took the first set 25-10.
The second set saw similar results, with Harford continuing to control the pace of the game. Howard struggled to maintain their composure, leading to errors that allowed Harford to extend their lead. Howard did break up the scoring run a number of times, but ultimately never recovered. Harford captured the second set, 25-10.
In the third, the Dragons coming with more energy to try and swing back the match to their advantage. A handful of aces from
Kayden Jeselskis (Baltimore, MD/Rosedale Christian Academy) and
Irene Almonte (Barahona, DR/Hammond), lit a fire under the Dragons. But the fighting owls still responded with consistency and were able to find the floor once more on the Dragons side. Harford took the lead once more, and never looked back to take the third set, 25-11.
The Dragons will compete in their final Region 20 match-up of the season, taking on the Westmoreland Wolfpack on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 PM.
