Dragons Catch Injury Bug, Lose at Home

Columbia, MD - With several key players missing due to injury, the Howard Community College Dragons fell to the Prince George's Community College Owls 2-0.

Returning home after a three-game road trip, the Dragons lost their third out of four games. With key pieces missing on both defense and offense, the Dragons kept the game close through the first half. Prince George's controlled the flow of the game, but thanks to the efforts of Howard's goalkeeper Bradley Fuentes (Beltsville, MD/High Point), they were kept scoreless.

The second half saw Howard take control, just barely missing several shots. Prince George's would finally strike first in the 69th minute off a free kick. A follow-up goal in the 79th minute sealed the win for the Owls.

Truce Norton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) led the Dragons in shots with four, two of which were on goal. Darian Paz (Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford) had two shots with one on goal. Tomas Lopez (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) added two shots, while Fuentes made eight saves in his first career start.

The Dragons next host Anne Arundel on sophomore day on Saturday, October 5 at 2:00 PM.
