History Repeats as Dragons Drop Second Straight

Louisburg, NC - For the second-straight day, the Howard Community College Dragons suffered a fourth-quarter collapse as they fell 70-61 to the Wake Technical Community College Eagles.

The Dragons wrapped up the Louisburg 401 Classic Tournament with an 0-2 record, as despite a second-straight 19-point game from London Galbraith (Washington, D.C./Friendship Collegiate Academy), Howard couldn't stop an Eagle scoring surge in the final minutes. The loss drops the Dragons to 3-2 on the season.

Howard led 21-7 after the first quarter, and looked like they would run away with an easy win. But Wake Tech outscored the Dragons over the final three quarters, including a 25-point swing in the third quarter. The Dragons kept the came tied at 49-49 entering the fourth, and only trailed by four with two minutes to go. An Eagle scoring explosion pushed the lead to ten, and Howard couldn't overcome.

Galbraith dropped 19 points for the second day in a row, along with two assists and three steals. Naomi Williams (Odenton, MD/Meade) was excellent in the paint, scoring ten points, two rebounds, and a steal. Emmanuella Oga (Randallstown, MD/Randallstown) came close to a double-double with seven points, six rebounds, and two blocks. Hannah Chambers (Columbia, MD/Hammond) added seven points and three rebounds, while Adriel Oga (Randallstown, MD/Randallstown) had a perfect shooting night with two threes and six points.

The Dragons next face off in the Montgomery Tip-Off Classic, as they face Raritan Valley Community College on Saturday, November 15 at 1:00 PM.
