Rockville, MD - Howard Community College's men's basketball team continued to struggle on the road last weekend as they fell 87-75 to the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats.
It was a rough shooting night for the Dragons, as they collectively shot 27-63 from the floor and 3-14 from three point range. Just two Dragons scored in double digits, while four Bobcats dropped double figures on a struggling Dragons defense.
The Bobcats opened up a 38-24 halftime lead, bolstered by 16 points from Azaiah Thompson. The Dragons were stuck in neutral, with
Sincere Barfield (Philadelphia, PA/Patterson),
Evin Thompson (Silver Spring, MD/Sherwood), and
Kanye McMahon (Lexington Park, MD/Chopticon) the only Dragons able to cut into the lead. The second half saw the Dragons offense come alive, led by 14 points from
Myles McDuffie (Baltimore, MD/Lake Clifton). Howard outscored the Bobcats 51-49, and at one point got the lead down to three points after a big layup from
Cedric Harville (Baltimore, MD/Ben Franklin). A 15-point run by the Bobcats erased any hope of a Dragons comeback though.
McDuffie finished as the leading scorer for the Dragons with 14 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
Sincere Barfield (Philadelphia, PA/Patterson) hit double figures with 12 points and two steals, while
Juan Bell (Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) knocked down nine points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Thompson was excellent off the bench with eight points, while
Matt Dalton (Sykesville, MD/Bishop O'Connell) came alive in the second half with eight points, three rebounds, and an assist.
Kanye McMahon (Lexington Park, MD/Chopticon) had a solid night, scoring seven points and three rebounds, and
Jake Tillman (Atlanta, GA/Lakeside) had a solid shooting night with six points.
The Dragons play their final game of 2025 on Sunday with a 1:00 PM showdown against Middlesex College.
