Galbraith Drops 21 as Dragons Finish 2025 Strong!

Rockville, MD - Behind a 21-point day from London Galbraith (Washington, D.C./Friendship Collegiate Academy), the Howard Community College Dragons wrapped up the Montgomery Holiday Tournament with a 53-45 win over Middlesex College!

The Dragons defense dominated the Colts, holding them to single digits in two quarters. Holding off a late comeback attempt, the Dragons ensured a 9-8 record for the first half of the 2025-26 season.

Sunday's game was a defensive showdown, with neither team able to crack 20 points in a single quarter. The Dragons held a slim 14-13 lead after the first quarter, but could only must six points in the second. The defense kept the Colts to just nine points, and Howard trailed 22-20 after the second quarter.

Foul trouble struck the Colts in the third quarter, allowing the Dragons to inch ahead. Late in the quarter, a scoring eruption saw the Dragons jump out to a double-digit lead that they never surrendered. Middlesex was able to get back within single digits late in the fourth, but Howard had already sent in their bench players to clean up the contest by that point.

London Galbriath recorded her second 20-point game of the season, scoring 21 points along with two rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Naomi Williams (Odenton, MD/Meade) had an excellent day off the bench, scoring 12 points. Savannah Price (Woodbridge, VA/Freedom) knocked down the only three-pointer of the day as she recorded seven points, six rebounds, and two steals. McKenzi Walters (Falls Church, VA/George C. Marshall) added four points and two assists off the bench, while Jasmine Dailey (Odenton, MD/Meade) notched seven rebounds, a block, and a steal. Emmanuella Oga (Randallstown, MD/Randallstown) and Hannah Chambers (Columbia, MD/Hammond) each recorded eight rebounds.

The Dragons next face Delaware Tech at home on Tuesday, January 6 at 5:00 PM to begin the second half of the season!
