Columbia, MD - Three members of the Howard Community College Dragons men's basketball team were named to the All-Region team for the 2024-25 season!
Sophomores
Emanuel Henriques (Baltimore, MD/Benjamin Franklin),
Christian Dean (Columbia, MD/Long Reach), and
Jaden Johnson (Upper Marlboro, MD/Dr. Henry A. Wise) were named to the first, second, and honorable mention teams respectively to wrap up a wild season for the Dragons. The three played a pivotal role in guiding HCC to the 2025 Region 20 Division II Championship, as well as a berth in the NJCAA national tournament!
Henriques was named to the All-Region 20 first team, finishing the season as the Dragons leading scorer. Henriques averaged 12.1 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game this season while starting every game for the Dragons. He scored a season-high 22 points against Des Moines Area Community College in the first round of the NJCAA national tournament, and will finish his two year career with the Dragons averaging 11.0 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game.
Dean began the 2024-25 season on the bench for the Dragons before joining the starting lineup midway through the year. Becoming one of the most prolific scorers for the Dragons this season, Dean was named to the All-Tournament team for the Region 20 Tournament and was named to the All-Region 20 second team. Dean recorded the highest scoring individual performance of the season in January, putting up 27 points against Hagerstown Community College, a career high. He finished the 2024-25 season averaging 10.2 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, and 1.8 assists per game, while also leading the team with 73 steals across the season. Dean finishes his career with an average of 7.6 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game with 93 total steals.
Johnson started every game this season as the Dragons point guard, leading the team in assists. Johnson was crucial in winning the Region 20 championship, and was named Tournament MVP for his efforts. Johnson was named to the All-Region 20 honorable mention team with an average of 9.1 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, and 4.4 assists per game. He finishes his Dragons career with an average of 6.8 points per game, 2.0 rebounds per game, and 3.0 assists per game.
