Hagerstown, MD - The Howard Community College Dragons fell to 4-6 last Wednesday night with a tough 3-0 loss to the Hagerstown Community College Hawks.
The battle of the HCC's was a tight contest, with the Dragons keeping each set close. Howard narrowly lost the first set 25-19, then led deep into the second set before Hagerstown pulled away to win 25-17. Set three was dominated by the Hawks, who comfortably won 25-14.
Howard's offense struggled to keep up with the Hawks attack, often relying on Hagerstown mistakes to keep close.
Zyon Austin (Odenton, MD/Meade) led the Dragons with five kills, while
Cheyenne Ellis (Eldersburg, MD/Century) recorded eleven assists and ten digs. On defense,
Stefamae Barquillia (Samar, The Philippines/Einstein) led the Dragons with 17 digs.
Howard next faces Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 PM!
