Shannon Riley was named Assistant Athletic Director of Howard Community College in October 2021 where she will be managing daily operations, compliance, eligibility, coordination with coaching staff, and student-athlete academic success. Riley was also named the first ever head coach of the Howard CC softball team in April 2021.
Riley had previously served as an assistant to the athletic director starting in 2018 before being promoted to student-athlete success manager in 2020. During that time, Riley also will served as an assistant coach for the women's soccer team at Howard CC, helping to lead the team to three straight national tournament appearances.
Shannon Riley went to Mount Saint Mary’s University where she was a two-sport Division I athlete. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Sports Management. She went on to earn her M.B.A. from Mount Saint Mary’s University where she focused on Business Sports Administration. While at the Mount, Riley was a four-year standout on the soccer team. She also played two years of softball as a second basemen and slapper.
Since her graduation from the Mount, Riley has also earned extensive degrees in the health and fitness industry. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, NeuroKinetic Therapist, C.H.E.K. Level II Practitioner and an NSPA personal trainer. She puts these skills to use as the owner of her company, Cre8 Change. She also is the rehabilitation specialist for a locally owned company, 5 Star Athletics, the leading softball skills company in the DMV. Riley also spent three seasons as the Director of Operations for the University of Maryland’s Softball Team.
