Howard Community College

Nico Muniz joined Howard Community College as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program in April 2026.

Muniz brings a strong background in player development and a passion for building winning programs. A former junior college student-athlete, Muniz understands firsthand the value of the JUCO experience and is committed to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court.

Prior to arriving at Howard Community College, Muniz gained valuable coaching experience at the Division I level with Morgan State University, where he assisted in player development, as well as working professionally within the WNBA as a practice player. These experiences have helped shape his approach to all aspects of the game, culture-building, and mentorship.

“I’m incredibly excited to be here and grateful for the opportunity to join Howard Community College,” said Muniz. “This is a special place, and I’m looking forward to building something great with our players and staff while continuing to develop strong, confident young women.” 

Muniz grew up in Howard County, playing basketball for both DeMatha Catholic High School and Hammond where he graduated as varsity captain in 2022.
