Jailyn Ivey has been named the head coach for women's volleyball in July of 2024. She was also named Assistant Sports Information and Game Operations Coordinator at Howard Community College in August of 2023.

A native of Bowie, MD, Ivey majored in Mass Communications and graduated cum laude with a 3.714-grade point average in May of 2021 from Virginia State University (VSU). Ivey was a member of VSU's NAACP Chapter for the 2020-2021 Academic Year, along with the Mass Communications club, and the Sports Management Majors Club. She also interned with 91.3 WVST-FM, owned and operate on VSU's campus, as aprogramming and production intern.

Ivey was a member of Virginia State's Women's Volleyball team from 2017-2020, where she attained many notable accolades. She was a 2017 CIAA All-Rookie Team selection, 2017, 2018 & 2019 CIAA All-Tournament Team selection, 2018 & 2019 First Team selection, and 2019 Offensive Player of the Year. She also was among the 11 student-athletes that were selected as Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars in 2019. Ivey was also apart of the Bowie State University volleyball team in 2022, and was a CIAA First Team selection, along with earning her 1,000th kill.

Ivey is pursuing a career in Sports Information and Media Communications. She has interned with Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) for the 2022 and 2023 CIAA Basketball Tournament. 

Ivey will be working alongside the Director of Sports Information and Event operations, Isaac Donsky, with her primary duties including the management of sports information and game operations within Howard CC athletics and all 12 of Howard CC's athletic programs.
