Mandy was a four year starter at NCAA Division III St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and played as a middle hitter. Mandy accrued four consecutive selections to the All-Capital Athletic Conference First Team. She is the first Seahawk to pick up four consecutive first-team accolades.

Goodspeed was also the program's third CAC Rookie of the Year honoree in 2012. During her four-year career at St. Mary's, Mandy tallied 1,157 kills and a .313 career hitting percentage as well as 369 blocks (121 BS, 248 BA), contributing 1,441 points to the team's success for a 3.74 average.

In her final season, the 6’1” middle hitter led the conference in hitting percentage with a .324 clip while ranking fourth in block solos (24), seventh in blocks per set (0.80) and points per set (3.6), ninth in kills per set (2.97), and 10th in points (328). Mandy led St. Mary's in kills (267), kills per set, hitting percentage, points, and points per set while second in block solos, block assists (48), blocks (72), and blocks per set.

Mandy is now working full-time at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a subcontract manager, and is part of the volleyball club there. She is looking forward to continuing to learn and teach volleyball at all levels, but especially at HCC.
